November In Music - The Last Ten Years

This is just a pick of musical events that have happened in November over the last ten years.



2004 - 

On November the 12th 2004, Eminem released his 4th studio recorded album (5th overall) Encore, he released it four days early to try and tackle pirating. The album features 'ass like that' and 'Like Toy-Soldiers'.

In the first 3 days of release it sold 710,000 copies, and became Eminem's 3rd album in a row to debut at #1.




2005 - 

On November the 8th the first Guitar Hero was released for the PlayStation 2. Not only did this game make rhythm games genre one of the most popular genres in gaming for at least several years but it also increased the sales of artist's music which featured in the game.

 















2006 - 

On November 16th 2006, Snow Patrol reach the top 5 in the US Billboard Hot 100 with Chasing Cars, and were the first British band to do so.




2007 - 

On November the 1st 2007, Germany Host the MTV Europe Music Awards for the 3rd time. The second time at the Olympiahalle, Munich. It has since been hosted in Germany another 2 times, and is now on par with the amount it's been hosted in Britain.




2008 - 

For the week of the 29th November 2008, King's Of Leon take over the top 40. They feature in it twice with their track Sex Is On Fire at 13th in the chart and their track Use Somebody at 17th.




2009 - 

On November the 12th 2009, Steven Tyler denies he's quitting Aerosmith, even though there were rumours of the band looking for a new lead singer. Turns out, however, he wasn't lying.




2010 - 

On November the 16th 2010, A Day To Remember release 'What Separates Me From You'. This being their 4th album in 5 years.




2011 - 

On November the 21st 2011, Kasabian released 'Re-Wired'.




2012 - 

Green Day release their second album in the trilogy 'Uno, Dos, Tres'. They also played a secret set at Reading Festival 2012 and headlined Leeds and Reading 2013. This was their first appearance at Leeds Festival since 2004, and their first appearance at Reading Festival since 2012 where they did a surprise set.




2013 - 

On November 11th , The Beatles - On Air – Live at the BBC, Volume 2 is released. It’s an album that gives a look at the earlier, youthful Beatles before their ultimate reign.
